The Fashion World Takes Notice Of Indian Culture

For every successful fashion design or trend, there were several more that flopped or were laughed out of the fashion world. However, there is one fashion trend that has caught the eyes of many experts and it seems to be picking up some serious momentum. For the last year or so, the western fashion world has started to incorporate small pieces of cultural aspects of the country of India. These small pieces have been well received and now fashion designers have begun to create full clothing lines based on the Indian culture.

Fashion guru Karl Lagerfeld chose to depict the Indian culture in his latest event and many within the fashion world are buzzing over it. Some fashion critics believe that India’s intriguing history and rich culture play a major role in the appeal of their fashion trends.

Western fashion designs have begun to incorporate Indian styles into pants, coats, dresses and more. Prominent color patterns of India are also being integrated into fashion pieces. In addition to the clothing, there are Indian accessories like jewelry that have become popular pieces in the fashion world. Lagerfield’s show used many Indian colors, clothing, and jewelry on his models and those in attendance were in awe of what they saw.

It appears that the Western world of fashion will continue with the Indian fashion trends and more shows are reportedly going to incorporate the Indian style and more clothing lines will do the same. However, it’s not like this is a new idea. Indian fashion designs first broke into the western fashion world back in the 1990′s with fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier.

The Benefits Of Tungsten Carbide In Jewelry

Whether a person is buying a ring for a marriage, engagement or just simply for daily wear, practicality is the name of the new game. Traditional jewelry metals like gold and platinum are no longer the center of interest for many shoppers; alternative and affordable metals such as titanium and tungsten are growing in popularity.

The affordability and unique designs that are offered with tungsten carbide rings today are serving to boost them into popularity. When it comes to finding rings for men, tungsten can often be the better option for a variety of reasons. Tungsten carbide rings are created with one of the most durable materials available in today’s market. Dents and scratches are no problem for a tungsten carbide ring, as it happens to be ten times harder than 18k gold and even five times harder than the great titanium. Only diamonds could possibly scratch it and beat it in the durability contest. The shine is everlasting and it makes for the perfect symbol of eternal love and commitment. These particular metals come at very affordable prices when compares to other precious metals.

Platinum and gold tend to be much more expensive to obtain, and maintaining them tends to rack up extra expenses as well. With a tungsten ring, there is no need to visit any jewelry store in the future, except for potentially resizing it of course. Various designs can be fashioned into a tungsten ring, and personalization is not a problem. Often times you’ll find that tungsten is paired along with diamond in order to create the most unique designs possible. Diamond and tungsten working together make for a very solid, durable product. No matter what design you happen to choose, you can be certain that the ring will last for a long time to come.

Designing A Corporate Uniform

There are quite a lot of benefits when it comes to creating corporate uniforms for your staff to wear. Unfortunately this is an area that many new businesses overlook when they are starting out and this can be understandable however it can often be one of the most powerful in terms of its appeal and how it makes your company appear to the public eye. What they do is reveal a sense of professionalism in your staff to anyone that uses your services and they also do a great job of ensuring that everyone on your staff is equal and that no-one is thought of more than everybody else. In what way do these uniforms be designed though for maximum effect?

There is a difference between a too casual uniform and a too formal one. Of course you want your customers to feel that they are in the hands of a professional however too formal a uniform can give off a negative vibe; similarly if you design them in to casual a manner it can be perceived as being sloppy and not interested. Striking a balance between these two is important and you can do this by perhaps designing a uniform in the way of a suit that has your company’s badge or logo on the front. This is not too formal but again it does not look casual.

In addition it is important to ensure that the colors match. Try and not be too flashy when it comes to the design and the likes of bright yellows or purples are probably out of the question; instead opt for neutral but business colors such as blacks or dark blues. Perhaps not the most exciting or eye catching of color schemes but they are far more professional and corporate looking.

First Fashion Outlet For CIC

A Community Interest Company in the North-East of England is launching its first fashion shop aimed solely at the fashion needs of Britain’s youth. ‘Labelled’ is the brain child of Gill Walker, a former children’s services worker, who has dedicated the last 12 months of her life to getting the initiative set up.

The idea is for Labelled to be operated by young volunteers in order for them to gain valuable experience working in a retail environment on either a full time or part time basis. Walker, who was recently made redundant herself, is hoping to convince the youth of the north-east that the future is not as bleak as it may seem and with the proper training they can go on to have a successful career.

Before opening their physical store, the company traded at festivals and markets around the country however they now have a permanent home in which to thrive. The ambition of Walker is not lost on the volunteers and the overall aim is to expand the Labelled brand and hopefully allow many more towns and cities to see the benefits of this Community Interest Company.

Furthermore, she is intending to bring out a book, entitled “Me, Marj and a Trestle Table – Conquering Social Enterprise”, in which she describes her awesome journey over the last year eventually culminating in the opening of the Labelled shop; not only does it serve as a reminder of the accomplishment but it will also demonstrate to others how through hard work and social enterprise a great deal can be achieved.
