Already quite the star in Hollywood, actress Lindsay Lohan is a star for more than one reason and one of those reasons happens to be her near constant involvement in some sort of controversy that the United States media seizes on almost instantly. Similar to Paris Hilton, Lohan is looking to build her name through a variety of means and recently revealed that she will be working with the fashion house of Emanuel Ungaro, serving as a muse, a role he personally chose and hired her to fulfill. Of course, the fashion elite in the United States chose this time to lace into Ungaro, accusing him of an utter lack of taste and so it comes as no surprise that even though Ungaro pushed through the slack to bring forward more designs, the critics were rough on his choice of muses and equally vicious about his fashion’s results. At his latest show, those in attendance who worked for publications were quite quick to tear directly into the designer’s whole scope of looks and called the Lohan inspired line a ‘complete and total train wreck’, stating that Lohan would be far better off to remain in Hollywood and pursue acting, a skill they also questioned her fitness for.
While plenty of other artists from outside the fashion world have joined up with designers, including musicians like Gwen Stefani, Jennifer Lopez and Justin Timberlake, none seem to have gotten quite the same scathing reviews for their participation. This is seen as being due to the fact that Ungaro’s line was haute couture and not the typical retail department store brands that most celebrities tend to endorse.
