Just days after Naomi Campbell announced that she would debuting a line of designer jeans, fellow super model Claudia Schiffer showed off her styles at the Parisian Haute Couture Fashion Week. The 40 year old model is still getting plenty of work with the likes of Salvatore Ferragamo and Yves Saint Laurent, Schiffer has decided to try her hand at design. Partnering with Iris von Arnim, Schiffer has successfully created a line of cashmere sweaters that are fit for a regal fashion icon such as herself. The German born model believes that she has made a sound business investment as well as helped to further her career in the fashion industry.
Schiffer’s line of cashmere sweaters are a bit on the pricey side, but there’s no reason that the average consumer won’t be able to afford a piece or two. Consisting of sweaters, dresses and cardigans, shoppers will certainly be see a lot of luxury on the racks next fall. Claudia Schiffer has already had a long and prosperous run in the modeling game, but it is not clear whether or not she will be a hit in the retail fashion industry. With steep competition from other celebrity turned fashion moguls, Schiffer will have to do a lot of marketing if she wants to stand out on her own. A few major department stores have already picked up the line, which will be available for purchase in the coming weeks. Schiffer currently lives with her husband and three children in England.
